Aviation and Air Transport Content Overview

If you are an aviation professional or manager from any background then the Aviation & Air Transport track is for you.

The aviation industry witnesses exponential annual growth in Asia alone, and requires trained and experienced airline managers to pilot its demands. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has partnered with the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) to design a curriculum specifically for aviation professionals. This is the first time that IATA is collaborating with an Asian university to develop and upgrade human capital for the global aviation industry.

Participants will attend residential on the NTU Singapore campus and a three-week segment at IATA’s Training and Development Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, where they analyse hot-bed issues. This full-time 4-week program addresses key aviation concerns such as:

  • Aviation Law & Environment (IATA, Geneva)
  • Aviation Strategic Execution – Project Management (IATA, Geneva)
  • Airport Strategic Management (IATA, Geneva)
  • Managing Aviation Safety & Security (IATA, Geneva)
  • Airline Finance and Accounting Management (NTU, Singapore)
  • Airline Business Foundations (NTU, Singapore)
  • Leadership & Innovation (NTU, Singapore)

The 4-week AMP in Aviation & Air Transport can be attended without taking on the full EMBA.

Our class profile for the Aviation & Air Transport AMP includes exceptional senior managers with more than 8 years’ experience in the aviation and air transport sectors. They usually have a minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience and have an average age of 37. While majority of our participants are Singaporeans, we have also seen many international students.

Established in 1945, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is a global industry trade group of airlines, with international headquarters in Quebec, Canada, executive offices in Geneva, Switzerland and operations in more than 150 countries.

The association currently comprises 240 airlines from 126 countries, which comprise 84% of the total air traffic. In line with its overarching mission to represent, lead and serve the airline industry, IATA spearheads numerous activities designed to provide safe and secure transportation to its passengers. The designation of airport codes, travel agent accreditation, cargo accreditation and myriad member services are among IATA’s activities.


Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for the IATA-Nanyang AMP in Aviation & Air Transport for 2014-15 academic year is S$30,000(excluding Singapore taxes). The fee covers tuition, most teaching materials and meals when classes are in session. Other expenses, accommodation and travel-related costs, are not included in the programme fee. Participants are responsible for all travel and visa arrangements.

Programme Schedule

Participants attend two 2-week segments – a 2-week segment on the NTU Singapore campus, and one at the IATA headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.  Please download accommodation form for stay in Geneva.
